Karen Alderson always enjoyed painting and crafts and in 1986 began a new career when she signed up for a doll-making class. The ability to bring her two-dimensional drawings to three- dimensional life inspired her to introduce her first originals for sale by 1989.

Her dolls were introduced internationally at the New York Toy Fair and now live in homes around the world. The inspiration for her dolls can be found in magazines, old paintings or photos, or even dreams and her own imagination. Now living in the scenic Blue Dandenong hills outside of Melbourne Australia, Karen Alderson creates original dolls and teddy bears, often combining both, accessorizing her dolls with a cuddly companion of her own design, and dressed in highly detailed costumes. Karen Alderson has also been honored with the prestigious Dolls Award of Excellence.

Please note when comparing our prices that many websites charge a separate shipping charge per doll and do not combine your purchases to save on S/H fees. Price matching is not available for retired / end of edition dolls. **Free UPS Ground/Insured S/H in the continental USA for all Website purchases $50 or greater. You may combine Tom Francirek dolls with purchases from our other lines in order to reach the $50 threshold. For payment we accept money orders and checks. Personal and business checks are subject to a 7 business day hold, however if we've done business successfully with you in the past, we may waive part of this hold or all of this hold at our discretion. We also accept electronic checks and credit card payment through PayPal. PayPal accepts Visa/MC/AmEx/Discover. If an item is not in stock at the present time, we are happy to take a pre-order or special reservation for your bear. All we require is a $5 deposit per item under $50 and a $10 deposit per item over $50. Please note that deposits are transferrable to another item or refundable in store credit should you change your mind after placing an order.

We are happy to offer a flexible layaway program. At this time, we tailor our program to each individual. Please inquire for details.

Generally orders are shipped Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays except during certain times of the year when we may be out of town or closed for a holiday. During the busy holiday season, we will often add additional shipping days. We do our best to ship all orders the first business shipping day after payment clearance, however during especially busy times, please allow up to 3 business days for shipment.

In order to qualify for Free S/H, your order must be $50 or greater and $50 or more worth of merchandise must ship at one time.
